SPACE for PERSPECTIVE
Since 2008, CHANG ART has cooperated with WATERGATE GALLERY, which is based in Seoul, Korea, to sponsor five exhibitions, three of which were based on a Contemporary Chinese Art theme aimed at introducing Contemporary Chinese Art to art fans in Korea. After one year of preparation, CHANG ART in Beijing, China has been launched.
The crises in both the financial and artwork markets have become the hottest topics in art circles in 2008. Many art institutions have faced various problems, and some of our friends have also expressed concerns about the timing of the exhibition. But it is my belief that, as a responsible and capable art institution, the show must go on.
At this time we will present the masterpieces of three Asian artists, Wang Chuan from China, Sanghoon Kang from Korea, and Ian Woo from Singapore. We all know that the space is a place for physical subjects, but what we may not know is that the space is also a place for mental worlds. At our exhibition you will learn how the three artists perceive space, based on their personal experiences and perceptions, as well as the existences that space is composed of.
As an art gallery with an international perspective, CHANG ART is committed to selecting first-class artworks as guided by the logic of art history, and making its own contribution to the development of contemporary art through direct communications with art fans around the world. Rest assured that we regard different aesthetic values with the highest respect as we probe into the history and the present of art by offering quality exhibitions of contemporary art, and the opportunity to understand the diversity of contemporary art to the audience. As revealed by the theme of our exhibition, SPACE for PERSPECTIVE, it is our hope that the exhibition will introduce more excellent artworks and bring more diversified aesthetic perspectives to the audience.

昌阿特从2008年开始与韩国首尔WATERGATE GALLERY合作策划了5次展览，其中3次是中国当代艺术的展览，一直致力于向韩国艺术爱好者介绍中国的当代艺术。经过一年多的筹备，昌阿特在中国的展览空间终于开始启动了。
08年以来，金融危机和艺术市场危机成了艺术界议论纷纷的话题，在这个时候有很多艺术机构出现了很多问题，也有朋友对我们在这个时候在北京启动空间表示不解，我想任何好的艺术机构都不会甘做市场的附属物。
在这次展览中我们将给大家呈现三位来自亚洲三国的著名艺术家作品。他们分别是，中国艺术家王川、韩国艺术家姜尚勋、新加坡艺术家伊恩•吴。 空间不仅是物质性的东西位置的场所，而且是精神上的东西位置的场所。在本次展览中3个艺术家表现了对亲自体验或认知的空间以及组成空间的存在的个人观点。
作为立足于国际视野的画廊，将从艺术史的逻辑中寻找出优秀的作品。并通过与国内外艺术爱好者的直接交流，为引领当代艺术发展趋势的生成而努力。同时将尊重不同的审美价值，并通过高水平的当代艺术作品展览，探讨艺术的昨天和今天，提供能够感受艺术界多种趋势的机会。就像这次展览题目《空间•感受》一样，希望我们的画廊空间可以给大家呈现更多优秀的艺术品，由此给大家带来丰富多彩的艺术感受。

창아트는 2008년부터 한국 서울 워터게이트 갤러리와 협력하여 5차례의 전시를 기획했습니다. 그 중 3차례의 전시가 중국현대미술의 전시로, 한국의 미술애호가들에게 중국현미술을 소개하는 것을 중점으로 하고 있습니다. 그리고 1년 여간의 준비 끝에 중국에 창아트의 전시공간이 자리잡게 되었습니다.
2008년 이래로 금융계와 미술시장의 위기는 미술계에서 의론이 분분한 뉴스가 되고 있습니다. 또 적지 않은 화랑들이 난황을 겪고 있습니다. 우리가 이 시기에 첫 전시를 하는 것이 잘 이해되지 않는다고 하시는 분들도 있습니다. 하지만 저는 훌륭한 갤러리라면 시장의 한낱 부속품이 되어서는 안 된다고 생각합니다.
이번 전시는 창아트가 중국에서 기획한 첫 번째 전시로 각 국의 유명작가들을 여러분에게 소개하려고 합니다. 그들은 중국작가 왕촨, 한국작가 강상훈, 싱가폴 작가 이안우입니다. 공간은 물질적인 것이 자리하는 곳일 뿐만 아니라, 정신적인 것이 저장되어 있는 곳이기도 합니다. 이번 전시에서 이 3명의 작가는 공간이 그들에게 가져다 준 생명체험을 각자의 인지방식에 따라 이야기하고 있습니다. 물질적 공간, 그리고 정신적 공간 이 모두가 작가들의 깊이 있는 사고를 이끌어 내었습니다. 그리고 이러한 사고는 생명, 사회, 역사 등에 대한 작가의 이해와 깨달음으로 연결되어 작품 속에서 일종의 미시적 방식으로 기록되어 나타나고 있습니다.
창아트는 국제적 안목을 갖춘 화랑을 목표로 예술사적 흐름 속에서 우수한 작품을 찾기 위해 힘쓸 것 것입니다. 또한 지속적으로 국내 및 세계 미술 애호가들과 직접적인 교류를 통해 현대미술의 흐름을 생성하고 이끌어 나가기 위해 노력할 것입니다. 다양한 미적 가치를 존중함은 물론, 앞으로 최고 수준의 현대 미술 작품의 전시를 통해 미술의 어제와 오늘, 다양한 흐름과 감성을 느낄 수 있는 기회를 마련하여 여러분께 선보이려고 합니다. 이번 전시의 제목 ”관념의 공간”처럼 창아트라는 이 공간이 우수한 작품을 만나보는 공간으로 거듭나고 이로써 여러분에게 다양한 예술체험을 선사할 수 있기를 희망합니다.
